Shot this tonight around 9:30pm, it was already completely dark. The idea: get the bright light from the bus stop and mix it with the ambient light from the street, specially the restaurant in the background. To help pop up the name of the bus stop I used my speedlight off camera. After a few tries of manual adjusments to the flash power and placement I got this shot as a taxi drove by. It is a bit blurry due to the lack of tripod and a very slow shutter speed, 1/3 sec, but the light is there. Next time I’ll bring the tripod with me.

Just that, a view from the bus. If you get more curious, I’ll let you know this is the west bound M31 bus running 57th St, at aprox 2nd Ave.

I have been willing to do this one for some time, just couldn’t find the bus stop with the proper light (that is, enough light). I was lucky to get a bus pass by. I don’t usually show my second choice picture of the day, but today, oh, was such a close called, that here it is. Which one do you prefer?
